The Meet The Wildflower series is back! I haven’t done one of these posts in quite some time due to juggling life so I hope you enjoy meeting this wildflower as much as I have loved sharing my gratitude for her here. Enjoy. xxx
I am very grateful to be surrounded by wildflowers in my life, who constantly uplift, inspire and fill me. I sit back quietly, watching as they orchestrate a flow of magic that dances out into the world. A kind of magic that is contagious and full of nothing but joy.
Today, I want you to meet someone special in my life by the name of Katie Tymms; someone, who despite challenges in her life, has turned these experiences into gifts to share with all.
My wildflower posts are where I regularly share with you women who have greatly inspired my life in some way. They are the role models, the teachers, the doers and the believers. To me they encompass everything a ‘wildflower’ is and so much more. I hope you enjoy getting to know them as much as I have. You can read the previous wildflower posts here & here.
I had just turned 21 and had been thrown onto the roller-coaster ride of my life. I had left my job and within weeks everything I had known up to that point was being thrown out the window. I had wished for a big 21st year but what I got wasn’t quite what I had in mind! One day while I was sitting on the couch, I opened a magazine to find a gorgeous picture of a smiling Michelle and a column she had written. I don’t quite know what it was about but I just remember reading it and thinking she could have been speaking to me right then and there.
I’ve been sitting here stuck for a few days now, wondering how to write a blog post so amazing that my imaginary audience out there somehow, somewhere, thinks that this is the best thing since sliced bread (wheat free for me thanks). If I could put an entire show of fireworks, ballet dancers, flame throwers and talking animals into this page just for you, trust me I would. I’d also add in some sultry serenades by Paolo Nutini, because he’s a babe. A babe that can sing his way to my heart anyday.
But thankfully I don’t need to do too much of anything right now, because this post isn’t about me. It’s about someone whose pretty freakin’ awesome and who is well on her way to inspiring women of all ages to see themselves in a better light.
Sometimes, an angel in human form wanders into your life. And sure, while they unfortunately don’t have wings and can’t fly next to you or whisper to you the answers for the next study test, they do something far greater:They teach you how to look at yourself.
The first time I met Desiree, came about like this: I had contacted her via email, halfheartedly inquiring about the lymphatic enhancement treatments she provided. She replied promptly, then I did a ‘Rachel’ and forgot allll about it, not bothering to reply.
But a month later she contacted me again, funnily enough on a day when I was feeling extremely lost and frustrated about my digestive health and not knowing which way to turn for answers. This time, I was ready. I called her on the spot and booked in for her earliest appointment, the very next day.
